Music Marketing

After discovering that we had to research indie rock music we started to do research on other rock bands in order to get a better sense of what we should make our video about as well as for the marketing campaign. After we finished researching for the campaign we started to work on both the marketing campaign as well as the storyboard for the music video. We also gave each other emails as well as phone numbers in order to create a chat and also to share the Canva link, Google doc link, and any other sort of photos or videos when necessary.

We spit the work up in order to not waste time and to finish this portion as soon as possible as to concentrate all our efforts solely on the music video and marketing campaign. We did the marketing campaign on Canva and wrote down the storyboard with three pieces of paper each consisting of 8 squares. We all confirmed what we liked or what needed changing until we had a relatively final draft of what we had to film. Of course later on, while filming when someone thought of something to add we would record it in order to have the option while editing.

At the moment of writing this, we have not completed all of the filming required as we have had to go to Regional in order to film some scenes and still need to go to Town center in order to film the rest. We coordinated all of this by discussing in class what time suited everyone and then further confirmed through messages where we were meeting in order to film. After finishing the scenes in Regional we all left in an orderly fashion. We have finished the marketing campaign at this point and all that is left is to record the Town Center videos, edit the music video, and paste it into the music marketing campaign before Tuesday.

Genre: Horror

Horror is usually regarded as one of the most interesting topics to choose when deciding between the type of movie someone wants to watch. It uses people's emotions and greatest fears in order to create an impact in the cinema world. These movies are very popular in October as it is mainly advertised here due to Halloween. Since horror movies are oftentimes seen as a nice cash grab for companies there are a variety of movies to always see.

Friday the 13th is a classic horror movie that takes place at the infamous Camp Crystal Lake. Some counselors who are not deterred from the camp after its history of murder decide to have some fun. While on their way to the camp superstitious locals warn them against going, but unfortunately, the counselors ignore their warnings and end up paying the price. One by one the characters are killed off in unique ways which build onto the suspense and mystery of the killer. The camp gives off the impression of being alone in the woods with no help to be found miles away and loud music is accompanied with the kills to emphasize their scare factor. The color of the movie os mainly consists of pink in order to demonstrate the feminism of the woman and red to signify the ever imposing force and power of the killer.

The Shining is about a family that go to a hotel where Jack Torrance becomes the winter caretaker. They do this because Jack is having trouble trying to come up with a story and is trying to go to a nice isolated place to think things over. He brings both his wife and son, who is having psychic premonitions. As time passes Jack's writing seems to be going nowhere his son starts to get disturbing images. Jack slowly starts losing his mind and starts to discover the hotel's dark secrets and his true role in the hotel. The Shining uses many different camera angle shots in order to convey the hotel as an endless building and a living being. The sound in the movie helps create suspense throughout its entirety and also helps to create a creepy atmosphere.
